I\u00a0<\/em><em>will update it every time I post till it is finished.: <a href=\"https:\/\/ashleybeanthornton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/How-is-ABT-Voting-on-the-Proposed-TX-Constitutional-Amendments-Summary-final-corrected.pdf\">Propositions and How ABT is voting<\/a>.<\/em> <\/i><em>Thank you! \u2013 ABT)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<h4>How I Plan to vote and why:<\/h4>\n<p>Three of the 17 propositions we will see on the ballot on November 4 have to do with restricting us from ever imposing certain kinds of taxes in the future.\u00a0 I call these three the \u201cNever will we ever\u2026\u201d propositions.<br \/><br \/><\/p>\n<p>Never will we ever\u2026<br \/><br \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Impose taxes on the \u201crealized or unrealized capital gains of an individual, family, estate, or trust.\u201d (Prop 2)<br \/><br \/><\/li>\n<li>Impose taxes on \u201can occupation tax on certain entities that enter into transactions conveying securities or imposing a tax on certain securities transactions.&#8221; (Prop 6)<br \/><br \/><\/li>\n<li>Impose \u201cdeath taxes applicable to a decedent&#8217;s property or the transfer of an estate, inheritance, legacy, succession, or gift.&#8221; (Prop 8)<br \/><br \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I\u2019ll be voting NO on all three of these propositions.<br \/><br \/><\/p>\n<p>I thought about going into a long explanation of each of these different kinds of taxes, the pros and cons, who they would affect and not affect.\u00a0 In the end I decided not to do that because all that is beside the point.<br \/><br \/><\/p>\n<p>We don\u2019t have these taxes now, and I don\u2019t see any reason to promise \u201cnever will we ever\u201d have them in the future.\u00a0 That just seems dumb.\u00a0 We don\u2019t know what the future will bring and what taxes we might need.
